Today, January 21, 2013 at the 57th Presidential Inauguration, Michelle Obama was the epitome of first lady style. Designer Thom Browne, an American designer, created the gorgeous blue ensemble she wore for the public swearing-in-ceremony of her husband, President Obama. The coat and dress were designed on the style of a man’s silk tie, not surprising, after all he is best known for designing men’s suits. I absolutely loved how she added the perfect accessories with the J Crew embellished belt, custom made Reed Krakoff boots, and the bright leather J Crew gloves. She looked stunning today, I can’t wait to see who she wears tonight! Oh, and look how adorable the girls look as well! xo

Black Was Golden Last Night!

I know, I know, I’m supposed to write about all of the gorgeous colorful gowns (red) I saw last night but black was the “it” color of the night for me. With plunging necklines (va va voom!), lace and fabulous accessories, the stars in black took the red carpet. Here are some of my faves and one not so fave. Happy new year DC fashionistas, it’s been a while, I know! I hope you enjoyed your family, friends, loved ones and festivities over the holidays, I did and I cherished every exhausting minute. January is now upon us (where did December go?) and it’s time to think about yourself now that you’ve shopped until you dropped for everyone else. This year, I’m taking inspiration from Pantone’s color of the year: Emerald. It’s gorgeous, rich, elegant, and has a timeless and chic feel.
